President's Message

Seriously……

The Rotary Club of Lowestoft East Point is one of the three Rotary clubs in our town. We form part of Rotary International of Great Britain and Ireland which totals 55,000 members. Worldwide there are over 1 million Rotarians, who are active volunteers; who enjoy being together and giving their talents to local, national and international projects.

Rotary's outlook is a varying one as the pictures show. First you see me in the middle of a group of Rotarians at our Handover on Tuesday June 28th June, a formal occasion. Here it is all smiles but of course we can be serious when considering future projects.

In the second picture you see me at last year's Lowestoft Air Festival, selling ponchos in the rain. Not the conventional image of a Rotary Club President with the chain of office and smart attire. But I love this picture because it represents the real face of Rotary. We are undeterred by circumstances. Together with members of Rotary Clubs from Suffolk and Norfolk we assist each year at the Air Festival. Not only do we contribute towards the success of this event but we raise money for humanitarian projects both near and far, throughout the world.
