Santa Rides Again

Once again East Point Rotarians, partners, family and friends joined forces with Lowestoft Round Table members and friends to take Santa Claus on his sleigh around the streets and estates of Lowestoft in the run-up to Christmas.  This year the rides started on 7th December and excluding Saturdays, continued through to 21st December.

More routes were included so that areas not previously covered were able to welcome the sights and sounds of santa on his sleigh with his group of helpers. Once again the most memorable feature was the look on the faces of the young children who were brought out of their homes to meet Santa face to face (not a pleasant experience with some of our santas!)
Much to the efforts of Rotarians Andrew Green and Steve James, the lead organisers, Santa's helpers collected in excess of £5300 in the buckets which they rattled around as they rang door bells and wished everyone a merry Christmas.
The money will be used by Rotary and the Round Table to benefit local charities.
Thanks go to all those who took part whether they became Santa for a day or two, pulled the sleigh, rattled the buckets, counted the money or provided hospitality for the counters at the end of each evening.
